Who We Are

We the Whitfield Family, and Foundation, a family of great beginnings, a family that came from great moral character and long suffering, and of righteous convictions.

We have always held on to the great moral fiber we engendered, and instilled in our youth a show of righteousness and strong family values.  From the offset the Whitfield Foundation desired to fund scholarships to encourage those youth that will take ownership of the gifts they were blessed with.

It was necessary to include a family of sharecroppers as well because this is what we’ve seen and learned from our father, to share and to give which has always blessed in returned, it’s a type of investment that will catch on and spread to others.  Values learned, values shared is the base of the activity we know was needed in our youth to insure a more competent moral future through summer youth camps.  Now we see the images today that reflect some neglect or attention not invested in our youth.  It’s about what others see, we know the goodness of our young people and we love them, but sometimes some may not teach them how to respect family virtues, and values that will show others the love they are raised with.   Have we failed?

We know the media has failed us all and have not taken the responsibility of its great power to be responsible for just communication to our communities and provide and omnibus of truth of our history, life and struggles, but rather escalate fearfulness and spread disunity.  So we take the responsibility more so for ourselves and will raise up a community that starts with our young people, they are second to none.

Will you help?

We need not lower ourselves to weak minded selfish egos we faced today.  We’d rather come together and find unity and purpose.  Let us take ownership to task and own up to the greatness in us that has always been the back bone of this great nation.  This is your invitation to become part of and support with what made other organizations great; your ideas, suggestions, and your encouragement.  We thank you.
